Flower Power

Today Mama & the babes toured three of Wheeling's most beautiful & best pedicured gardens.

The little nature boy napped while we toured Michelle Latos amazing 5.5 acre garden (Michelle invited the boy & I over in the early spring, and we were impressed then... boy was I fooled. I CAN. NOT. BELIEVE Michelle's summer garden. She has RED tomatoes, corn stalks, and absolutely NO weeds. Anywhere. She's amazing!)

Luckily, Michelle invited us back for a weiny roast with her hubby when the boy finally wakes up. (Although Papa is awesome, I think he might get overly-motivated after chilling with Michelle's Husband for an evening!)

Mama loves flowers. And she's pretty good at organizing. But, unfortunately, Mama's not-so-good at organizing a garden. I'm pretty sure that if we ever get rich, I will hire someone to design our gardens, and then Mama will just spend her time weeding & taking credit for their beauty!

The little guy finally woke as we arrived @ Mary Lou's rock garden; beautiful! Unfortunately, Mama's camera died just when the boy got cute crawling all around the garden!
After charming a belly-full of grapes from the seasoned Master Gardeners, we packed up & headed off to Clare's secret garden. (Before we left Ms. Mary's, baby Marie appeared with a little Cozy Coupe. Love at first site, of course. Hopefully, Marie's mama can bring her over to play soon!)

Before we hit the garden circuit, Alexander, Papa & I spent the morning at the ENT. Luckily, the babe's hearing is still 100%, despite a dozen ear infections in his first year of life. But, the doctor said that the little guy's ear drums looked like they had seen quite a bit of action; they were thin & wrinkly, like an old babushka... a sure sign of a life of ear infections. The doctor also noticed that the boy has a
bifid uvula, which probably is the cause of the little guy's chronic ear infections.
That said, tubes are probably in our very near future; the doc was talking about bringing us in next week... (Note for Aunt Lynn, because of the cleft Uvula, the doc thinks that if we take the boy's adenoids out also, his speech will be impaired, because he will not be able to close off the sinus passage & he will become a nose-talker...)
But before we can get tubes, we have to get some sleep...
And to get that good night's sleep, we're willing to do anything... Mama Anna has promised us that if we put an old, well used broom under the boy's bed, he will be able to sleep like a teenager.
It was worth a try... Mama's getting tired.
You'll notice that I put the boy back in his crib also...I'm just so tired, i don't know what else to do. I plan to let him cry it out, alone in his bed, but when 1am rolls around, I am so out of it, I don't even wake up. I just go into his room & pick him up.
Speaking of sleep... good night!
