A Birthday Brew

Mama doesn't brew, but I do enjoy watching the boys do it. Maybe it's because Daddy let's the boys do all the work, but it's probably because he doesn't make me do any...

Mama's Birthday

Mama's got some grey hair. Daddy says no one else sees it. But it's there. Right on the part. But, I guess, it was earned. The older I get, the more good memories I have to celebrate. The more good memories I can look forward to making with three of my favorite boys. So, happy birthday to me.

Alexander and William decorated wrapping paper is better than a present. I love it. Love it. It's still hanging on the chalk board, their wrapping paper designs, and is destined to be framed and hung on the craft-room wall. Love.

And, inside, a Minion. Apparently, when JB and Stretch took the boy to see the Lego movies last week, they also took him to the arcade. And with 50 cents in the claw machine, the boy "won" a pink Kiss Me Minion, which refused to drop and required at attendant to open the machine and shake it loose. But I digress. After aquiring the Minion, Alexander carried it all thru the mall, behind his back, in case I showed up, so I wouldn't see it.

And once he gave it to me, he explained that the Minion was there to cheer me up. When I was feeling stressed or mad, I could take the Minion, cuddle, and I would feel all better. Alexander would take it to bed at night to "charge it up" with good energy for me, and I could use it like a heating pad or a Xanax. (And with this, I must say, poor Alexander. I know all this transition has been hard on him, me, us, but hoy vey. Poor guy. What a loving, kind child.)

The boys, JB and Stretch also made and colored signs (did I mention Daddy came home for my birthday?) and blew up a bag of birthday balloons for our early morning celebration.

Did I  mention Daddy was home? And he brought flowers, lots of flowers, with him. I love Daddy.
