Alexander's friends (cousins, grandmas & auntie) gave him a wonderful birthday (& Christmas, for that matter). And to show them how much he appreciated all of their gifts and time, we spent 3 of Babe's naptimes finger painting "friends" and then writing names. I won't suggest that writing is enjoyable for the boy (or for his Mama), but he did it. Good boy. And thank you for making his holiday!

Can't Quit My Day Job: Alexander photographs Emily at One Year
When we were setting up for Emily's picture last weekend, I asked the boy to bring me his camera. He brought back my phone and said I could use that camera.... We compromised and my assistant Alexander used my phone to capture a different angle during the "shoot."
The boy kept telling me to move, "you're in my way." And getting a little upset that he wasn't getting a clear shot at the birthday girl. Pretty neat. And now I think he'll be getting one of Mama's old cameras for Christmas... maybe with a faster shutter speed. We'll see where his art takes him.

CMOV: And Alexander's Interpretation
For the second time in a week, Alexander has pulled out a camera and taken pictures with Mama... but this time he explored the scene and picked his own subject
He told me later that the snake was too long, he had to take a series...
