Cover of the Rolling Stone... or page 29 of Regional Musician

Remember that Cigar Box Guitar workshop Daddy & Alexander attended earlier this year? Yeah, this one.  Well, the super awesome instructor, Stephen Moore, owner/artist at the MeriCAN Canjo Company let Mama take pictures of the CNG building process & his lovely looking Canjos and post them on the MITCH Collective blog.

We'd almost forgotten about the workshop/photos, except for Alexander's love of carrying the CBG around & Stephen's impromptu concert in the carport; and then we got a call from the folks at Regional Musician. The kind editor asked to use the workshop photos in the inaugural issue of their free digital magazine, "written about and for the upcoming musicians found across America."

So, here we are in all 5 of the August 2013 regional editions with a little photo cred and a big smile. Follow this link to see the full version of the magazine & Mama's photographs, Mama's Regional Musician Photos.  And to see all the issues/covers, go here.

Cigar Box Guitar Workshop with Daddy

The boy is four and he is finally old enough. OK, maybe not old enough to drink or play the lottery, but definitely old enough to sip on some Wild & Wonderful Culture and play a little more constructively with Daddy. So we signed the boy up for the first Cigar Box Guitar workshop at the MITCH Collective. And he did awesome. The boy sat in a class with six adults, in a room full of power tools, wood glue and a power torch, and his only issue, refusing to call the teacher anything but "teacher." And in  his defence, he was the teacher. Bravo, big boy!

And while Daddy & Alexander made their first cigar box guitar, Mama & William trecked up the hill to admire the view from the top of Grandview Cemetery.
