Summer with Saveliy: Pennsylvania Trolley Museum

We've had a rough week. William had a bad case of tonsilitis, Alexander's being treated for Lyme Disease (& started acting like it), our Super Hero Scientist had a run-in with a strange old man and Saveliy hasn't enjoyed having sick brothers.

So Thursday after camp we braved the 92* and sweaty heat and headed to the Trolley Museum. This was the first time Alexander, or any of us, for that matter, had a ride on the open-sided car. It was great. Saveliy just kept screaming, "Turbo."

At least we had a short break from the whining and bickering.

On the Road Again: Home

And, then we went home. The boys, again, did great on the airplane. They were champs on the 8 hour drive home from the airport. These boys can travel. This Mama, is a bit worn out.

Babushka had a wonderful birthday trip, just the thing to strengthen her Spirit and re-start her recovery. Alexander made some exciting memories (hunting alligators, Mama's ship, his shy friend) and William bonded with his Babushka. Daddy and Mama re-connected with some wonderful people and remembered how fun our journey has been.

Thank you to everyone for your hospitality and presents and presence and dinner and lunch and memories. We really, really love our of our Cajun family. Hugs, kisses & safe travels.

On the Road Again: Jet Plane

"Good morning, America, how are you
Don't you know me, I'm your native son
I'm the plane they call The City of New Orleans
I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done"

Hello Jet Blue, and hello awesome little travelers! Alexander (of course) did an amazing job on the flight (home) to Louisiana. A sat with Babushka, in the row in front of Mama & Papa, ate way too many chocolate cookies & blue chips pushed on him by the friendly flight attendant and played with a few new toys that magically appeared in his Thomas "Soup Case." Fabulous. And William, also a super-champ. The babe fell asleep as we took off, slept much of the flight, except while playing with the fruitloop in the aisle in from of him. Adorable. And, as is normal, upon landing, the old lady passengers all congratulated the boys for what a fabulous job they did in-flight. Good boys!

Bus Boys: Bored to Adventure

Last week it was cold and dreary, yet both boys refused to sleep. So we woke up early and tired. And some of us... read: Mama... are crankier than others when subjected to Moldovan Sleep Torture. And when I thought I might not be capable of one more sleepless moment, I looked up the bus schedule, packed up the boys & left for an adventure.

Alexander found three pennies while we waited for the bus, a major highlight. We met one of Daddy's co-workers at the courthouse (ironically, we were paying property taxes on the Prius, while on a bus adventure), who told the boy about 2 more coins he had seen outside the courthouse, near his car. With a new mission to find more coins, the boy was off & climbing the courthouse walls. Five coins in pocket, we headed to the library. Walked to the post office. It started to rain. Stopped at the Honey Hole in the Centre Market for special adventure cookies. Speed walked thru the drizzle. Missed our bus. Spent another hour at the library playing Dr. Seuss games. And, finally enjoyed our ride home. Phwew! Good. Long. Day.
