Happy Valentine's Day, Grandma

What better way to show Grandma (& Grandpa) some Valentine's love than with a big  handmade card. See, we were paying attention to JB's one big heart success story... and even adopted the idea for ourselves.

We love you Grandma & Grandpa!

Daddy should have delivered the boys' heart to Carlisle today... so it should be safe to post pictures...

All You Need Is Love: A Big Heart

Hi, Jenny Brown was at it again. But for this year's All You Need is Love campaign, she went big. One big crocheted heart (with all our little hearts hanging as background). Big success. As in, lots of media. WTRF. The Times Leader. WTRF. And JB's Blog. Even a couple mentions on Wild & Wanderful. I guess you could say she (Jennifer & Jaqui) are pretty good at this crochet gig. Good job ladies... and Stretch!

Katy, Bennett & Louis adopted separated from the OVHM this year to help the Young Preservationists cover even more territory. The adopted the stately Fort Henry Club, former home of many entertaining Casino Nights for Mama & Daddy. I think the snow was coming down just like this for Mama's first Casino night... Good times.

He's My Valentine

Daddy was supposed to come home on Valentine's Day. But the weather. The crappy, awful weather. And the closed NJ Turnpike. And the 45mph speed limit on the PA turnpike. So, Alexander, once again, stepped up and gave me a Valentine. Actually, two.

I mentioned that Alexander "hates to craft," incorrectly, of course, because he's always refused to go to "art" at school. He's rarely brought non-compulsory crafts home. Until this week. He made me a Valentine. A beautilful, very thoughtful Valentine. The teacher even told me that Alexander used "girl" colors. Just for me.

Be Mine: Valentine's Day at Easter Seals

Well, Alexander is quite handsome. I promise. He is. Unfortunately, no matter how lovely the lady he's cozied up to or how tight his bow tie, he always looks like there is a funeral procession somewhere in the distance (to the right, obviously).

As we were sitting on the carpet, admiring the boy's lovely Valentine bag, I mentioned to Shelley that Alexander "hates to craft." Whoa. Whoa! Alexander heard me, put his mean face on and vehemently, hands on hips, said, "I love to craft!" Well, I'll say, this is a pleasant surprise. A bit of a shock. But this turn of events is definitely a step in the right direction. Hopefully he feels the same way next week.

Hard to see, but the boy wrote his name on his bag. With a capitol A and lowercase letters! (!!!) Wow, good work boy!

Obviously, William really wanted to get his hands on Brother's bag after we got home...
