If you're swimming, can you feel the rain?

It's been a hard transition home after two weeks of family, little friends & non-stop fun. This week the boy's been particularly ornery & distinctly cranky; and Papa's been noticeably missing. The doctor diagnosed the babe as an official "terrible two," but I'm hoping that when football season finally gets here we'll be able to transfer that terrible to our towels and get another Super Bowl ring out of it, instead of just another bowl of Cheerios on the floor... A Mama's gotta have faith, right?

So, in a last ditch, Mama's-going-crazy, effort to tire the boy out, we headed to the Benwood Park Pool. Not-so-bad. I feared the little taste bud wouldn't be able to help himself from drinking up every last sip of pool water, but I was delightfully wrong. Thank Goodness!

We had a blast! Nikola & baby Marie were there to splash around with the boy; and their Mama's were on-site to help Mama find her sanity.

Benwood has a great, shallow baby pool. With an oh-so-necessary chain link fence separating the babes from the big pool. Good times.

My only complaint? The birds. After a quick snack on Mama's blanket, we hid the sealed snacks under Mama's bag, but didn't worry about the very minimal crumbing (you know my boy, if it's on the floor, it tastes better!).
Then the kiddos ran back for the water. When I looked back toward our blanket, there were scary little, flea-infested flappers crawling all over my blanket & backpack. Ugh. After the bird-mite scare a few weeks back, Mama can't handle this kind of man vs. wild. Uck.
Mama noticed a few clouds moving in after a few hours playing in the water...

So, we packed up our stuff. No rush. Headed toward the showers.

And then it hit. And the Ohio Valley went flat, "flat on her back." Whoa rain storm. And Papa went to work, and we haven't seen him since. Luckily, our house never lost power, but most everyone else in the area was. Yeah, Woodsdale!
Hopefully, Papa comes home from work soon! But until then, we'll have a yard sale; babies not included!
