Visit from Home

The Ohio River disappointed many last weekend when it peaked within it's own banks, but luckily Grandma & Grandpa Smith came to town to cheer us all up!
They brought a flood of hand-me-downs from Aunt Jenn (including Zander's new twin bed) & an awesome antique chair from Aunt Connie & Mellott Auctions. Thanks guys!

Although the Grands have been to Wheeling a number of times, they've spent all their time in Woodsdale admiring their grandson & fixing up our new home. So we figured we'd take advantage of the dreary weekend to show the family the "city."

After checking out the un-flooded Ohio River, the CLOSED visitor's center, the CLOSED Artisan Center & Brewery & the CLOSED fish market, Papa told a joke he heard @ work, "The best way to revitalize the city is to level it & build a parking lot for the Highlands." I would take offense to this, except since everything is closed on Sundays, a trip to the Highlands didn't sound like such a bad idea. So, we went to Sheetz for a Shmagle & called it a day.

Luckily, Alexander is entertaining enough, because other than some belly tickling and a quick, pictureless swim @ the YMCA, we did very little last weekend other than admire our smart little man.

It was great to find all the purple & gold LSU gear Mama & Papa sent to Ethan when he was just a squirt in the bags of Aunt Jenn hand-me-downs!

Since we couldn't have Fish for dinner, Papa & GrandPapa went to the store, prepared, cooked & served a delicious dinner fit for a king. Oh, I just love my men-folk!

Although I have zero decent pictures to prove the fabulous time Alexander had with his PA Grandparents, hopefully everyone's fond memories will suffice! OK, I did get one good picture...
