It pays to have friends on the inside of "Carlisle;" especially during the All Truck Nationals! And it's even better to be inside "Carlisle," so we went in... with a little help from Grandma & Aunt Amy.
Most things we've done with Saveliy this summer, Alexander has already done. But the truck show was a first for both (all three) boys. As is the "normal" both boys wore Ethan's hand-me-down shirts, and Grandma (a Truck Show regular) showed them all the coolest low riders, monster trucks and taught them how to encourage the lowest to scrape and the loudest to bounce. What a granny!
And then we hit the grandstand, pulled on our ear muffs and waited for Megasaurus. Grrrowrrrr! OK, we had to see a couple monster trucks jump, jar and destroy compact cars first, but that's all in a days work around these parts.
(This part is quite picture heavy, but hey, I'm trying to make some memories here!)
What Monster Truck adventure would be complete without a ride on the famed Virginia Giant (re-named the West Virginia Giant for the day, of course). Thanks again Grandma for volunteering for this not-so-graceful ride; this Mama (& her geriatric neck and back) are so happy I didn't have to ride!
