Run, Rock & Roll: A Free Wheel Chair Mission

Let's start with a little side note: I hate the "updated" Blogger. Uploading pictures is about as annoying as getting up 4x night with the boy. Editing with the new Blogger is harder that getting our little boy to sleep. Unlike.

Luckily, you just get to look at the blog, not upload it... We were up and out early Saturday morning; Alexander & Maia were in a rush. Actually, they were in a run. A Run, Walk & Roll, to be precise.
The kid & his big sister decided to raise a little money for the Free Wheel Chair Mission & run in Wheeling's 4th Run, Walk & Roll.

The boy got to warm up his running legs early at the Kids Fun Run. But there was nothing fun about it. (Funny, non-true story to come...)

After a slow start at the fun-run, Alexander was in first place. A little rug-rat came up behind him, tripped him, and subsequently, the little guy came in last. Seriously, last. His Mama actually had to carry him over the finish line to get his medal.

Despite his gaping head wound, the boy decided to go on with the full 10 year, 10K. Go Team Maia! While the little ones ran the 2.6 mile course, the Mama & Papa took a little stroll up the trail & "yee-hawed" for all the runners, walkers, co-workers & wheelers that came by. Even D's Big Boss came running by (in 4th place to be sure!).

Check out that huge smile; Maia was lovin' it! The boy lost a binkie, thank goodness his big sister was packin' an extra.

41 minutes & 53 seconds! Yippee!

You may know that Maia is not a "Pink Lady;" sorry Grandma! But she's wearing pink you say? Well, of course. She decided to wear the pink shirt that Aunt Jenn sent, in support of Aunt Jenn & her successful run in the Rochester 1/2 marathon on Sunday. Go Aunt Jenn.

And then she got arrested. OK, she didn't, but she did get her picture taking with some of Wheeling's finest!
After the race Papa had a little lunch-time snack at a corner "NC BBQ" joint, while Maia won a fabulous door prize! Yeah Maia!
