Extended Family Vacation: House Arrest

We had so much fun on our first "family vacation" last year in the Adirondack Mountains, that we decided to do it again... with the whole famdamly. In early June everyone converged in Deep Creek, Maryland for our first Extended Family Vacation. It was memorable. Fun. Exciting. Busy. And exhausting.

As we arrived at the lake, we were met with a beautiful sunset.

The memories began the first night when Daddy & Ethan got lost on the lake...at dusk. That'll be a story for another time.

Alexander's cousins quickly adopted Savely as one of the crew. By lunch on Sunday Sarah & Savely were telling everyone they were best friends. I'm not sure either one actually knew their real names, they just kept referring to each other as, "Best Friend."

As you know, Will.i.am is a Mama's boy. But he warmed pretty quickly to his Babushka. And she, of course, couldn't get enough of him either!

Grandpa went searching high & low to find the perfect remote control boat for the grandkids to fiddle with. They loved it, he must have picked the right one!

I have no pictures to prove it, but Uncle Daddy is awesome! He filled tubs & tubs with purple, blue & green water balloons, gave them to the children, then danced around like a goof, begging the kiddos to pelt him. What a good sport. And what a fun time; Alexander asked me if we could play water balloons again today!

S'mores.

A boy & his tent.

Cousins.

And trying to calm them all for bed... Ha! Good luck!
