Karmatic

"Karma is the law of moral causation. The Pali term Karma literally means action or doing. Any kind of intentional action whether mental, verbal, or physical, is regarded as Karma. In this world nothing happens to a person that he does not for some reason or other deserve. Karma is action, and Vipaka, fruit or result, is its reaction.

Just as every object is accompanied by a shadow, even so every volitional activity is inevitably accompanied by its due effect."

That said, let's talk about Mama & Ander's Karma, or Vipaka, to be exact. We love to quietly do nice things for everyone in our path. Of course, we have to do it quietly, or someone might notice the perpetual tears in mama's eyes. Anyway, it's fun. And, as it seems, our good works always come back to us (but that, of course, is not why we do them...)

Last evening, on our way home from collecting a load of freecycled coke caps, Vipaka knocked. Well, actually, Carrie called. I mean, same difference, but either way, we "won." That's right, we are now the proud owners of a fabulous gift basket, including an empty can of Planters Sweet & Crunchy Peanuts. Of course, it didn't arrive empty. But it was the first thing Alexander claimed out of the basket, and the last thing he thought of before bed. Yum.

What precipitated this good fortune you ask? I can't be sure, see, but maybe it has something to do with Jacob or you? Have you checked your mail today?
