Twwet, Tweet Lil' Birdie

DD is just the sweetest Papa! On weekends he has a hard time putting the little cuteso down at naptime, just cause he likes cuddling so much. Alexander is the luckiest son!

DD was also pretty lucky this week. I knew it would be hard to best my Mother's Day present, a box of generic Mac & Cheese and a yummy bottle of Shiraz-Cab wine, so I started shopping early. And, you all know, the hard part isn't finding a present, it is containing yourself once you've gotten it, and not giving it right away. Im not so good at that...

So last Thursday, D took his first flying lesson! Although I couldn't afford the whole kit & caboodle, D got an introduction, where he got to taxi, take off & land the plane. He said they even flew over our house! He wont actually fly again for a while, but he has all the books, papers, etc. to start taking the classes. And after each section, as we can afford it, he will take the flight labs. He's super-excite.

Fwd: Nature Boy Boris

Zander Bob's Five months old! Can you believe it?

Zaney's rockin' & rollin' and eatin' with a spoon! He's even starting to get the hang of his lil' sippy cup!

Our dear BR/Wheeling friend's (Jenny & Wade) had their little girl a month ago & today Alexander had his first playdate with beautiful little Rose @ Oglebay Park. We went on a Nature walk and Alexander identified all kinds of delicious smelling flowers, and we even saw a deer!

Mama Jenny found us this super-cute Bjorn carrier; im so excited, & Zaney loved it!

Then, after a little arm twisting, Jenny convinced Alexander & I to join her for lunch- at a RESTAURANT! No problem. Alexander fell asleep in the car & we ate in peace. It was wonderful!

Alexander, didn't have such a tranquil volunteering experience last week, however. Our church was holding its biannual rummage sale, so we figured we'd walk over & help set things up... Alexander didn't last long at all. I don't think we were there more than 30 minutes... hoy vey. He is definitely much more social/happy in the mornings!

This is my first time posting via gmail, so i hope it works, and if all goes well, maybe this will help me keep this "blog" updated. (didn't go well...)

We're talking teeth, and travels

Yep, that's right, teeth! Little Baby A has been more than a little ouchy the last week; I wish those chompers would just break through and show themselves! Give that baby some relief!

Although he isn't too interested in teething toys, his knuckles are starting to get callouses from chewing on them so much! And he's dripping like a leaky faucet, he's finally starting to look like me :).

Spring has finally arrived in WV & we've got an outdoors man in the making. No matter how big-a-fit Alexander throws, take that kid outside & he's all smiles. We spent the last 5-80* days rocking on the porch swing, watching Peanut stalk birds.
Napping in the back yard while I garden is another new favorite- for me & Zaney!
The last month has been full for firsts. In addition to the teething, Alexander has also had his first crazy spring break with Jenny Brown & Stretch.
His first play date, and my first attempt at entertaining post-baby.
Ethan's Indiana Jones birthday party in Carlisle.
Lindsey's Bridal Shower in Johnstown.
And his first Spring Car Show. Including his first golf cart ride.
His first bottle with the guys on the corner. Light Em' Up!
And his first orange flag.
And JB made him his first pair of little Chucks.
But it certainly wasnt his first time being just plain cute...

62 Days Under the Alexander Administration

It's official, Alexander can roll over. As a matter of fact, he can even roll off the couch. Of course, I'm so quick and nimble, he didn't actually make it to the floor; thank God!

He's also become the master of the cute little GaGa GooGoo Smile. I think he can even say "Hi!"

In other, less adorable, but in some ways just as exciting news, Alexander slept for more than 7 hours last night! He may have slept closer to 9 hours, but I woke him up a few times before I went to bed to feed him; he wasn't too interested. Of course, being the stickler to detail that he is, Alexander insisted on keeping his schedule and was up for the day at 4am. For some reason, I don't feel all that rested this morning?

With the extra sleep, I'm starting to get back into the ol' craftin' spirit. Last weekend, between coos, cries and wet diapers (because he hadn't pooped in 4 days...), I made Alexander 2 more receiving blankets with the cutest discount flannel.

I was even motivated to jazz up his cute little diapers with the left over flannel.

D has also been getting "crafty" this week... he decided to "remodel" the kitchen to make the perfect cubby for our new super-deal fridge; yep, the failing economy has been good to us. Our weekly trips through the Lowes clearance isle finally paid off. We found a $1000 side-by-side Whirlpool fridge on clearance for $698. I asked if they would take $500; and score we finally got a working fridge!

And then I saw a clearance dishwasher... it matched... and now we have one of those too. Yippee!

Jenny Brown & Stretch coined a new phrase last week, "What would E do." I guess my thrifty reputation has gone nationwide; but what girl doesn't love a deal? Check the left sidebar for some of the other deals we got this week.
