Weekend with Bernie

Who wouldn't like to torment a Grandpa just sitting innocently reading the Sunday paper? Certainly not this boy... or his brother!

Small Liam

For as long as... forever... JB & Stretch have taught Alexander to call all of the various Liam's he knows different variations of "Liam." There is Big Liam (Johnstown Liam), Medium Liam (Wheeling Liam) and Small Liam (JB's nephew).

But Saturday, when Small Liam walked in the back door to play, and Alexander excitedly yelled, "Small Liam!" Stretch embarrassingly corrected him, "He's just plain Liam." So, I wonder, is this another case of "the Russian?" Do all of these small children not know that JB has nicknames for all of them? Is Stretch's name even really Stretch?

But, what's in a name anyway, right? Right. Anyway you want to call them, those boys had a Big kind of fun together...

Did I mention the teacher said Alexander spent much of his time in "dramatic play" at school? Yeah, this is his dramatic play face.

Summer with Saveliy: Cousins and a Creek, Oglebay Waterfall

Saveliy is obsessed with family. "How many Aunts do I have? Who are my cousins? How many Grandmas do I have?" "I have a really big family." And, it's true, he does. This Mama'd kinda taken that for granted until the Cuz started talking about it (all the time).

We have a big family. A lot of distant cousins and Aunts and extended various other Maternal women ready to mother the nearest little one. We're pretty lucky that way, and so are all of these  kidlets. And after the thrill of the Aunt has waned, there will always be the coolness that comes with a bedroom full of cousins!

Or, last week when Aunt Jenn visited, a Creek full of cousins...
