After only 5 years of avoiding the family picture, we got back in the saddle this morning. Although it would have been better with Cognac, I don't hate the preliminary results, and it certainly is nice to have a printable memory. Thank you Bennett McKinley Photography (&wife); we look better in print than in real life!
The boys were adorable yesterday morning at the pool; they were hanging all over each other, and when they finally had to separate in to their age groups Alexander was so sad he told the Guard that he was "too tired." And Saveliy was so excited to have his favorite Guard, David, as his instructor again!
Alexander graduated out of the baby pool! Hip, hip horray! How, I don't know, but whatever, Mama doesn't have to get in the pool this year! Par-tee!
As soon as we arrived at the pool the boy was on. Shoes off, down the stairs, didn't even look back for Mama (Daddy, brother, Grandma or Saveliy); He was in the swim. Of course, he couldn't swim, and didn't really listen well to the instructor, but he still got placed in a class (who knew and pheww). The lead instructor said that although actual classes are for 6+, the fact that A was "big" and not clinging to his water-phobic Mama, he would fit in with the big kids (which is wonderful, since the pre-school class doesn't actually learn any swimming).
And what's even better (figuratively, not literally, obviously) is that Alexander is in the same class as Saveliy. So, both boys get to learn to swim... independently of Mama/Aunt Erin, thank Goodness.
Saveliy is here. And what better way to spend a Wild & Wonderful Summer than busy? No better way is right. So we got busy with a new Ninja School adventure with the neighbor girls. Did I mention how adorable (read: Hilarious) these children are. Yeah, hilarious. And if you don't think we're non-purposefully raising a pacifist, I don't know what you're watching...
